The South Regional Championship game in Memphis, Tennessee featured 2 of the most successful teams in College Basketball history. Kentucky and North Carolina are 2 of the biggest name programs in College Hoops. North Carolina is the #1 seed in the South Region with a record of 30 Wins and 7 losses.  UNC is on a current 3 game win streak.   UNC Entered today’s game against the Cats with a big win over Texas Southern.

The quest for Championship number 9 continued today in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Kentucky took on the Wichita State Shockers.  Kentucky is the #2 seed in the South Region, Wichita is the #10 seed in the South Region.  Both teams advanced with wins in Fridays opening round games, Kentucky played in state school Northern Kentucky University, KY won this game by 9 points which 79-70 in a game that was closer than  anticipated. Basketball hysteria is a common theme during the month of March in Kentucky.  People from all over the country get involved in the NCAA Tournament and Kentucky is one of the higher seeds in the Tourney, with the fans not only expecting final fours but National Championships.   Kentucky has a rich tradition and has a rabid fan base that packs arena’s and is always one of the top ranked teams in the NCAA Tournament. March Madness is the most exciting month of the year for any one that is a college basketball fan. The game between Wichita State and Dayton was no exception.  The Shockers took part in the third of 4 games Played @ Bankers Life Field House. The game featured the Wichita State Shockers against the Dayton Flyers.

Midwest Region Game #1.

Michigan and Oklahoma State were the first ones to take the court @ Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Michigan and Oklahoma started the game very tense and nervous as each team was nervous and struggled to score the ball.  The game was very interesting to attend and teams would trade baskets in the opening minutes.  Either Team was able to get a significant lead.  At the half, Michigan was up by 1 point.  Michigan 41, Oklahoma State 40.  In the end Michigan was able to pull out a 1  point win, in a thrilling game.  Michigan 92, Oklahoma State 91. 14th Region Boys Championship, A Masterpiece. Perry County Central edges Knott County in a double overtime game.

Jackson, KY.  The Finals of the 14th Region Boys Tournament, between the Perry County Central Commodores and the Knott County Central Patriots was a game that will be talked about for years to come.  Regional Finals are an exciting time in the Bluegrass, the arenas are packed to capacity and excitement is absurd for all people involved.  Perry County Central entered the Regional Tournament as the prohibitive favorite and are the winners of the 54th District Tournament.  Knott County Central entered the Region as the runner up’s in the 53rd District Tournament.   Continue reading 14th Region Boys Championship, A Masterpiece. Hazard, KY- The opening round’s of the  Girls 14th Regional Tournament took place @ Hazard’s High School Memorial Gym.  Two games were played tonight to open region competition.  The first game featured the Breathitt County Lady Cats from Jackson, KY (the winner of the 55th District Tournament) taking on the Letcher County Central Lady Cougars  (Runner up of the 53rd district tournament) From Whitesburg, KY.   Continue reading 14th Region Girls, A Wild Night
