College Volleyball – Volleyball downs Tennessee Tech for third straight win

MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State volleyball team overcame a slow start and defeated Tennessee Tech in four sets at Wetherby Gym on Saturday afternoon. The win marks their third straight and moves them to 6-4 in conference play. Following a win over Jacksonville State last night, it also marks their first weekend sweep of the season.

Most fans and media types picked Florida State to beat Louisville last week. Most expected the Cardinals to play a tight hard-fought game, but still come up short in Tallahassee. What they didn’t expect was the lack of effort shown by the defense in the second half after leading 7 – 6 at the half. Missed tackles and blown assignments drew the ire of head coach Bobby Petrino in the 41 – 21 loss to the Seminoles. Hammons posted 3-0 scrimmage records and Vince Edwards and Caleb Swanigan combined for 47 points, 23 rebounds and nine assists as the Gold squad edged the Black team, 81-80, on Purdue’s annual Fan Day. Men’s College Basketball – Pitino Will Not Participate in ACC Media Day

University of Louisville men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino will not participate in the 2015 ACC Operation Basketball, a full day of media availability on Oct. 28 for the conference’s men’s basketball coaches and student-athletes in Charlotte, N.C.  He has been advised not to participate on the advice of counsel.  The Cardinals will be represented at the event by fifth-year guards Damion Lee and Trey Lewis, a pair of graduate transfer students who are team captains along with junior Mangok Mathiang.
