(Hazard, KY) – A collision on Combs Road in Perry County late Monday evening left one man dead and three others injured. The crash occurred just before 7:50 p.m., and involved two vehicles. MOREHEAD, Ky. – Kayoncia Tate, a transfer from Walters State (Tenn.) Community College, has joined the Morehead State women’s basketball program. Tate will have two years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2015-16 campaign.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 30, 2015) – Attorney General Jack Conway today announced that he has joined eight other state Attorneys General in a lawsuit asking a federal court to strike down a new rule from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that unlawfully expands the federal government’s regulatory reach over local streams, lands and farms.
The rule, known generally as the “Waters of the United States” (WOTUS) rule, would extend the EPA and Corps of Engineers’ regulatory reach to an untold number of small bodies of water; including roadside ditches, short-lived streams and any other area where the agencies believe water may flow once every 100 years. Ohio State has a winning percentage of over .800 in St. John Arena
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s basketball game against Wagner on Nov. 22 will be played at St. John Arena on campus. Game time and TV assignment for the game will be announced at a later date.

Elier Hernandez’ run-scoring single in the fifth inning broke a 5-5 tie, and the Lexington Legends went on to an 8-5 win over the Savannah Sand Gnats Monday night. The game was completed Monday after being suspended Sunday afternoon after four innings due to rain.

Pike County – Indiana State Police arrested a 25-year-old Evansville man earlier today after a criminal investigation revealed he battered a 14-year-old boy while tied to a tree.
Trooper Nick Hatfield initiated a criminal investigation after receiving information Christopher Grubb, 25, of Evansville, had allegedly battered a 14-year-old Warrick County boy on June 13. During the investigation, Trooper Hatfield revealed the victim and a 17-year-old male went to Grubb’s residence located at 103 Brentwood Circle in Evansville to visit. All three are acquaintances. U.S. National Team dropped just one set in seven matches in Lima, Peru
Lima, Peru – Former Illini All-American outside hitter Michelle Bartsch Hackley ’12 helped lead the U.S. Women’s National Team to the 2015 Pan American Cup title, as team USA swept through the international competition at a perfect 7-0 to claim its third crown in four years. Bartsch was influential in the team’s run through the tournament, held June 13-21 in Lima, Peru, including headlining the United States’ rout of Costa Rica in pool play. WINCHESTER, Ky., June 29, 2015 – With the Fourth of July holiday coming up this weekend, Daniel Boone National Forest officials are reminding visitors that all fireworks are banned on national forest lands.
Forest Service policy prohibits “possessing, discharging or using any kind of firework or other pyrotechnic device” within the national forest.
“This policy was developed to help ensure the safety of our forest visitors,” said Forest Supervisor Bill Lorenz.
“The use of fireworks was never permitted in developed recreation areas, but our policy now extends the ban on fireworks to the general forest area.”
Forest Service regulations also require that campfires be attended at all times. The agency recommends campfires in designated fire rings and grills within developed recreation areas to minimize the risk of an uncontrolled wildfire.
