SHINE JESUS SHINE

 “Shine, Jesus, Shine,” a Christmas musical, was presented by the Riverside Christian School elementary classes.  The program was under the direction of Mrs. Kathy Keck.

   The story centers around a celestial star search that takes place to select the star that will shine over the stable where Jesus will be born. 

   Every student in grades K-6 was part of the choir and in at least one special number.  Four students had leading character roles.  They were Judah Voth—Big North, Alexis Haddix—Stella the Star Polisher, Vanessa Noble—Celeste, and Jacob Baker—Supernova. 

   The musical was written by Karen Dean and Don Marsh and included beautiful songs, such as “I Love the Way You Shine,” “He Calls the Stars By Name,” and “Just Enough Light.”  The set included a night full of stars and a manger scene.

   Two performances were given, one in the evening for the public and one the next morning for the rest of the student body and visitors.

   Mrs. Keck was presented with a red rose in appreciation for all her hard work.  She in turn acknowledged the elementary teachers and aids who assisted in various ways.  Also a number of high school teachers had a part in the behind-the-scenes work.
